Most of the pictures in this site were taken using the Casio Exilim Z40, this is the first decent camera that I've ever owned.
I like this camera, the price is decent, it has a sleek design and best of all, tiny, not to mention light
(approximately 4.27 oz). What is also nice about the Casio Exilim Z40 digital camera is the big LCD display, unlike other
digital cameras, this has a 2-inch digital interface TFT color LCD (84,960 pixels).
In my opinion it takes better digital
images compared to the pictures taken by Canon's S500. When looking for a Camera, it is best to find one with a good lens,
you can't really tell them unless you've tried them but lenses from well known manufacturers are advisable. Before I
bought this camera I wasn't really sure if Casio can make good lenses since they're new in the Camera Industry but when I
found out that they use Pentax Lenses, my worries disappeared.
It takes a maximum of 4 Megapixel (2304 x 1728 pixels)
digital images in jpeg format (a common format which is good) and has a 3X optical zoom, more than enough for snapshots.
It has 4X digital zoom but not important because you can do this on your computer, this only distorts your image, making
the pixels grow bigger instead of the image growing bigger. You might also need to buy a tripod if you use the zoom often
or else you get blurred images unless you have a steady hand. This can also take low resolution videos in AVI format, a
very common file format which is good. Sadly, you don't have much control on the shutter speed but you can use the
pre-defined shots which has different shutter speeds. This uses an SD memory card which is also very common to find, just be careful not to buy slow SD memory cards.
The Z40 has an ISO adjustment and many other settings that you can play with. All in all this is a very good camera, for its class.
You can't go wrong on buying this if your looking for a handy camera that takes great pictures. I heard that the Z55 is the latest version of the Exilim line, which probably has better features.

This was my first digital camera, it only takes 2 MP images, the digital photos are good but does not take good pictures during the night. A few earlier photos in this site were taken using the Kodak EasyShare CX6200. It is a very inexpensive camera indeed which is one of the reasons why I bought it. It has a good lens but it does not have any optical zoom which is a very bad thing. With this camera I got a lot of red eyes and so all that said, this is just an outdated camera compared to the new digital cameras these days.
